Sourcing Manager

The position responsibilities: As Sourcing Manager, you will be proactive in leading initiatives with representative from our customer organizations to source products and services. You will be trained in our strategic sourcing process, a disciplined and highly successful approach to sourcing. You will be supported by strong internal management and will work closely with other associates in a collaborative environment. However, your initiative, good judgment and team building skills will be recognized as you work independently on specific commodity initiatives. You will:

  • Use your experience and process change skills to identify opportunities to lower costs
  • Direct small groups of sourcing management professionals
  • Develop vendor relationships
  • Understand customer specifications and processes but also seek to influence those requirements through marketplace research and best practice assessment
  • Ensure compliance across the larger organization
  • Participate in training to develop expertise in TopSource's strategic sourcing process
  • Share best practices across all divisions to insure the success of your efforts

Your qualifications to be considered

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in any analytical or business discipline (Accounting / Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)., MBA preferred
  • A high degree of competency in quickly developing expertise in a commodity
  • Excellent skills in market / supplier analysis
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership of projects and their related savings goals
  • Demonstrated ability in strategy development, negotiation and problem solving
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and flexibility to adjust to demands of the job
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimum supervision
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to successfully negotiate time-sensitive issues
  • Strong MS software skills (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
